Choose Your Group

We do all the planning for you, from what roads you’ll ride on, to booking your hotels or campgrounds. Every rider receives a complete tour package with a route plan, tour itinerary, booking confirmations and GPS files for directions while riding.

Complete Tour Package

Don’t waste your time spending hours researching locations, roads, local eateries and supermarkets. Let us handle all the planning for you, we will make sure that everything is covered. All you need to do is bring your bike and gear and off you go!

At Derailed Adventures, it is our mission to grow the bikepacking community and the number of people seeking out adventure by bicycle. We love helping people explore and safely push their boundaries in new environments. We know that the best adventures are off the beaten path but also strongly believe that bikepacking is an adventure that everyone can enjoy!

Derailed Adventures is a great place to kickstart your passion for bikepacking and cycle touring. We want to facilitate more outdoor adventures for everyone, to share an experience with like-minded people, form friendships and join the larger bikepacking community. We welcome mountain bikers, gravel riders and road cyclists.

Meet the Team

Tristin

Founder/Guide + Tour creator

Tristin is an avid outdoor enthusiast and off-road cyclist.

Tristin grew up in a cycling family and has been passionate about bicycles all his life. He is a qualified outdoor educator and has enjoyed teaching people the wonder and importance of natural environments. Tristin has guided in bike parks in New Zealand, Australia and Canada as a PMBIA mountain bike instructor.

After discovering bikepacking in 2015, Tristin needed to share his passion with others. After many more bikepacking adventures across the globe and insightful conversations with other like-minded bike enthusiasts, an idea was formed and Derailed Adventures was born in 2021.

Mel

Base Operations + Customer Service

Mel has been in and around the bike industry for the past 10 years. She has worked in bike shops in Toronto, Melbourne, and all across BC. She has seen bikes of all kinds come through the shop doors and is always excited to chat with customers about their bikes and travels.

Bikepacking became a passion for Mel when she went on her first trip back in 2018. Rough trails, knobby tires and a few scratches have cemented her love for adventure by bike.

At 5’3” (on a good day), Mel knows the struggles of bikepacking on a small bike. If you have any questions about crafty solutions to get gear on a small frame, Mel is the person to talk to!
